Introduction

The SAPROF-CV (Guidelines for the assessment of protective factors for serious problem behaviour in children) is a tool to assess protective factors that mitigate the risk of serious problem behaviors in children aged 6-15.

Developed through extensive literature review and collaboration with international experts, the SAPROF-CV complements the EARL-V3 by highlighting strengths and resilience factors that create a more balanced view of a child’s risk. This approach fosters hope, encourages positive goal development, and informs effective intervention strategies.

What the course involves

This one-day online training provides a thorough overview of the SAPROF-CV manual, including each protective factor and how to evaluate them in real-world settings. The course features interactive exercises, case examples, and discussions on gender and cultural sensitivity. Participants will learn how to incorporate protective factors into comprehensive risk assessments, improving the accuracy and clinical usefulness of their evaluations.
